This is my first season of watching Lost not on DVD, and I’ve gone officially insane for it. I fear Sayid will die, and for longer than he did in “LA X.” I suspect Kate and Sawyer will get together, even though I’d prefer Kate and Jack, but Jack and Kate already got together once and she was still unsatisfied. Jack will probably die too going head-to-head with Smoky Locke, or else they’ll inherit the island from Jacob and The Man in Black. I’m annoyed Juliet is dead. I’ve high hopes Penny and Desmond will live happily ever after. I could go on and on about this, really.
This week, I found the “Lost: Untangled” vids on ABC’s official Lost site. What fun!

The super cute book Aranzi Cute Stuff by Aranzi Aronzo is no joke–is IS cute stuff. I showed some drawstring pouches and key ring projects I pulled/revamped from the book in a previous post, but today I’m showing off the barrettes. Technically, there is no barrette project in the book, but because I couldn’t find any cheap Pony-Os at Wal-Mart, I nabbed some dollar snappy barrette clip things instead. Then, I busted out the felt and embroidery thread and went about the project as usual! Behold, the fruits of my labor:

Penguins, kittens and yellow bird-like things, oh my!

Remember the days when you blow into your video games to make them work, and it took like fifty tries? My family and I had Tetris for old-school Nintendo — in fact, I still have a console on which I used to challenge my friends in college to Dr. Mario competitions. It was mad fun dropping like, eight primary colored blobbies on their side of the screen at once, but I digress.
My brother, listening to a band redoing old video game songs, got me remembering Tetris and how I remembered thinking one of the three original themes was far superior than the others. Theme A is overdone, B is a horrifying nightmare but C is super chill and mysterious. Hear for yourselves:
That guy is rockin’ the casbah.

Who can look at this cover and not feel twinges of artistic ecstasy?
By far, the best craft book I ever stumbled across has been Mark Montano’s Big Ass Book of Crafts. There are so many project ideas in this that anyone looking for something creative to do will find something thrifty and fun to spark their interest.
One craft I embarked on was Mark Montano’s wig rest, a gift for my friend Paula after she lent me her Wonder Woman wig. As usual, I mostly followed the step-by-step instructions, making a few adjustments to suit my needs, naturally. Some of my changes: a jam jar for a more sturdy neck, a painted wooden model stand for the base and a homemade “turtleneck” I quickly crocheted in front of Six Feet Under.
Now kindly behold my creation!

Michael Showalter’s poem “The Apartment Building” off his Sandwiches & Cats CD is an instant upper when I feel crappy.
His inflection is hilar, and the poem provides so many classic lines Casey and I throw at each other often–they really do make most situations better and are always appropriately fitting. (I italicized our two most favs below.)
Hear the poem here!
Or follow along with it:
It’s poor form of me to have two South Park posts in a row (yet I’ve not a problem with the actual content) but I just can’t help myself — this song has been in my head for a week and I enjoy singing it to my cat.
I just watched “The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer” episode and cannot get this song out of my head.

I am addicted to this song–catchy and makes me feel ten thousand things at once. What a riff!
As an aside, how fine does J.Mraz look in the above vid? He is wearing the perfect boy outfit, with the perfect boy hair and the perfect boy accessory. Pine!
In the late nineties, there was no way I was going to be allowed to stay up late on a school night to catch a wisdom-spouting episode of MTV’s Undressed, but I managed to catch a few eppies here and there with Lis, who I recall having a crush on the geeky Justin Timberlake boy who drove a van and totally smooched that glittery butterface Jana. The other things I remember most about the show are:
- The crimpy-haired blond slut who lurked in the dormitory (with a name like Kiki, what else could we expect of her?)
- The other blond sex guru in the dorms who told the virgin guy to go give it up to Kiki so he can later have a better time with the virgin girl, who was the one he really liked and wanted to sleep with (I remember thinking that was horrible advice)
- The cute boy who could only communicate his innermost feelings via a sock puppet!

Now we can catch a few episodes online at UndressedTV.com and continue our education! Thank you, Internet!

My brother enjoys this vid, which proves everything is fair game and anything in this world–including Lady Gaga and typeface–can make sense together.
